The heart of Wilkinson. A large open kitchen, expansive living and dining spaces, wood-burning fireplace, four private bedrooms and plenty of room to gather, work, eat and spend time together.

Four separate cabins provide additional accommodations. Each can sleep up to four guests, although two per cabin offers the most comfortable experience.

THE STORY OF WILKINSON

This place was never built for everyone.

2018

It started with a place they wanted for themselves.

Wilkinson began when two avid hunters from Calgary found themselves spending more and more time in the mountains of Carmi.

They weren't developers. They weren't building a hotel. They had reached a point in their lives where they wanted to spend less time in the noise and more time somewhere that felt entirely different.

So they built the place they wanted for themselves.

A beautiful home in the middle of 150 acres. Cabins for the people they wanted around them. A big kitchen. Fires. Trails. Forest. Creek. And enough distance from everyday life to actually feel like you'd left it behind.

Then Wilkinson found its next purpose.

Eventually, life pulled its original owners back to Calgary.

We bought the property in 2023 with a slightly unconventional dream of our own: to create a place where women could learn to ride motorcycles.

Today, every summer, hundreds of women come through these gates. They arrive from across North America to spend a week learning something difficult, getting dirty, building confidence and discovering what they're capable of.

They leave with skills they'll eventually take on motorcycle expeditions around the world.

Maybe it's the mountains. Maybe it's the quiet. Maybe it's being far enough away from normal life that normal life temporarily stops having a vote.

What does off-grid mean at Wilkinson?

Wilkinson is an off-grid wilderness property. It operates independently from conventional municipal utilities while still providing the comforts required for a private retreat, including dependable Starlink connectivity.

How many guests can Wilkinson accommodate?

Wilkinson can accommodate groups of up to 16 guests. The main house includes four private bedrooms, while four additional guest cabins provide shared accommodations. Each cabin can sleep up to four, although two guests per cabin is the most comfortable arrangement.

Is the property completely private?

Yes. Your group receives exclusive use of the property during your stay. There are no other retreat groups or vacation guests sharing the property with you.

What's the difference between the two retreat options?

The Private Mastermind Buyout gives you the property, accommodations and light Wilkinson concierge support while your group manages its own food, transportation and programming.

The Fully Hosted Business Retreat includes everything in the private buyout, plus chef-prepared meals, drinks, transportation coordination, retreat planning support, daily hospitality and full-service concierge.

What support is included with the mastermind buyout?

The private buyout includes personal check-in and property orientation, pre-arrival guidance, text concierge support, troubleshooting and check-out support. Your group remains responsible for food, drinks, transportation, programming and day-to-day logistics.

What does 24/7 concierge mean for business retreats?

Fully hosted retreats include on-call support throughout your stay. We help coordinate arrival, transportation, hospitality, schedule needs, property questions and the practical details that allow your group to focus on why you came.

Is the Wi-Fi reliable?

Wilkinson uses Starlink for internet connectivity. It allows groups to stay connected, work and take calls while still enjoying an otherwise off-grid setting.

Can you help us plan the retreat?

Yes. The Fully Hosted Business Retreat includes pre-retreat planning support and help shaping the rhythm and schedule of your stay. You bring the goals and the people; we'll help make the experience work around them.

Can we fly directly to Wilkinson?

Wilkinson has a seasonal private landing strip. Use is subject to weather, runway conditions, aircraft suitability and advance coordination. Most guests arrive through Kelowna and travel to the property by road.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The retreat continues. Wilkinson is a wilderness property, so weather is part of the experience. Outdoor plans can be adjusted while the house, meeting spaces, gym, sauna and gathering areas give your group plenty of room to continue the retreat indoors.

Does applying guarantee a booking?

No. Wilkinson is application-only and welcomes a maximum of 10 private groups each year. We review each application before dates are offered to ensure the property and experience are the right fit for the group.
